13 Colonies: New England + New York and New Jersey

This is what happens in APUSH.
I had this brilliant idea to personify the states! IT WAS GENIUS!
Then I learned it had been done before.
So instead here are the colonies! I have yet to see them done so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I'm not sure if I want to say they're Hetalia related. Inspired, yes, related, not sure.

I'm personifying the original Thirteen Colonies and the surrounding territories. I'm going at the rate my class is covering material, so new colonies/territories/states/WHATEVER will pop up at random times.

LET ME KNOW IF I'VE MESSED UP SOMEWHERE
They're half based on stereotypes and half based on the history of the colonies.
No, Connecticut's not a pirate. I just thought his chibi looked a bit like one >___>;

New York
Human Name: Johan Van Cortlandt
(The Van Cortlandt family was a very rich old Dutch family that owned a good deal of Westchester and Manhattan.)

Personality: New York is bossy, stuck up, and pompous. He is extremely overprotective of his brother and Vermont, whom he attempts to stop from becoming her own republic.

(Heinrich is a German name. Hendrik is the Dutch variant but I don't like it as much.)

Family: New York - Older brother
Personality: New Jersey is timid but friendly. He lives in his brother's shadow and is often looked down upon because of it. He and his brother have a typical sibling relationship and bicker about pointless things.

Human Name: Alexis Du Bois (French, pronounced Alexi Du-B'wa)
Age: 17
Height: 5'5''
Family: New Hampshire - Cousin
Personality: Originally sweet and calm, living with New York has made her hot-tempered and bossy. She is resourceful and self-sufficient. Living in the wilderness made her athletic, brave, and energetic. Living in the city is making her bored and restless. She rotates weekends with New York and Vermont. It's a bit like having divorced parents, she says.

Family: Connecticut - Cousin. Rhode Island - Cousin
Personality: Massachusetts is a no-nonsense character. He is cold, strict, and stern. A religious nutcase, he goes on tirades when blasphemy is uttered. His only love is law and order. He's a bit of a mad genius...in a bad way.

Personality: Connecticut is stoic. When he speaks on rare occasions, others shut up and listen. He is a capable sailor and naval commander.

Rhode Island
Human Name: Theodore De Wolf
Age: 11 and a half
Height: 4'7''
Family: Massachusetts - Cousin, Connecticut - Older brother
Personality: Rhode Island is very cheerful, hyperactive, and optimistic. He lacks an attention span and can be very stubborn. Connecticut is the only thing keeping him from chasing after butterflies.

New Hampshire

Family: Vermont - Cousin
Personality: New Hampshire is hardworking and feels at home in the woods. He has a helpful personality and is happy to lend a hand. He is, however, a quiet character.
